Dublin Lions ended their first district game against the Merkel Badgers Friday, Oct. 6 with a 47-21 loss but a strong fourth quarter showed that Dublin fights until the very end.

The Dublin Lady Lions took to the court to face the Eastland Mavericks and the Brock Eagles last week in volleyball action. Dublin’s girls scored 7, 6 and 11 in a three-set away game against Eastland Tuesday, Oct. 3. Summer Anderson had 3 assists and 2 digs.

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 80-84 degrees; 8.01 feet below pool. Black bass to 7.07 pounds are good on jigs and shaky heads, and 6.13 pound fish on whopper plopper, crankbaits and frogs in 2-15 feet of water. Crappie slow in brush piles and around the docks on minnows in 8-12 feet of water.

DJH XC takes tops at Thrill

Dublin High School and Jr, High cross country runners traveled to Stephenville for the Thrill of the Hill Wednesday, Oct. 4. The Dublin 8th grade boys took top honors as a team in their event thanks to the following finishes: 10. Hudsen Joslin 14. Kyler Gaitan 18. Isaac Puerta 22.

Ladies clash with Comanche

The Dublin Lady Lions went four sets deep as they faced the Comanche Maidens in an away game on Sept. 26. The Dublin ladies claimed the first set 25-23 before scoring 10 to Comanche’s 25 in the second. Both teams battled hard in the third with Comanche claiming it 27-25.
