FW foes face Lion fight

It was a welcome sight to Dublin Lions fans when Aidan Hernandez scored the first TD of the 2023 season in the home game against Fort Worth Christian Thursday, Aug. 24. His score came early in the third quarter when he retrieved a fumble made by the Cardinals near the end zone.

Lady Lions fight in home tourney

The Dublin Lady Lions went 1-4 as DHS hosted schools in an invitation tournament Thursday, Aug. 24 and Saturday, Aug. 26. The Ladies opened up play Thursday morning against Hico and scored 16 and 18 in two sets against the Lady Tigers’ 25s.

BROWNWOOD GOOD. Water slightly stained; 87-89 degrees; 7.08 feet below pool. Black bass to 6.88 pounds are good on shaky heads, swimbaits and glides in 4-12 feet of water early and late in the day. Crappie are slow in 10-12 feet of water fishing minnows in brush piles and around docks.

Lions head home for first game

The Dublin Lions are suiting up to host Fort Worth Christian tonight (Aug. 24) at 7 p.m. for their first game on DHS’ Bob & Norma Cervetto Field. “We ought to match up pretty well,” said DHS Athletic Director/Head Football Coach Greg Hardcastle.

Tarleton State University broke ground Tuesday, Aug. 22 for a $110 million, two-story multipurpose arena that will sport NCAA Division I basketball facilities and room for academic convocations, symposiums, conferences and conventions.
