Members of the Goodfellows along with volunteers and Dublin High School students helped load up collected food items Thursday, Dec. 15 from the Dublin Elementary School. Students donated more than 800 food items to benefi t those in need to the food pantry at the First Methodist Church.

A caller stated there was a man in an orange shirt and jeans walking around the residence in the 300 block of North Patrick. Officer made contact, he works for Atmos and was checking meters. A reporting person came to the station to report credit card fraud.

Thursday club learns about grist mill

The Dublin Woman’s Thursday Club met for their last gathering of 2022 on Dec. 8. Many thanks to Ben Pate for welcoming us to the Dublin Historical Museum for our meeting spot. President Fran Journey called the meeting to order with 12 members present and only one absent.

Sales Tax figures up for October collections

Dublin sales tax collections were up substantially in October, at 14.30% higher compared to October 2021, according to the state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar this month. For the month of October 2022, Dublin received $44,912.34 compared to $39,292.16 in October 2021.

Fire safety urged for holidays

Although the holidays are supposed to be a time of joy, the season also brings increased potential fire dangers to the home and its inhabitants, said Texas A&M AgriLife experts. “Fires are among the most common home-related dangers to be aware of during the holidays,” said Joyce Cavanagh, Ph.D.
