The First Methodist Church of Dublin will be hosting a Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24. There will be a reception following the service. Everyone is invited to attend, organizers said. The church is located at 630 Highland Avenue.

A reckless driver was reported on 377 South driving in the wrong lane. An officer made contact with vehicle after it ran a stop sign and a citation was issued to the driver. A reporting party stopped in the station to speak with an officer about a civil matter.

At its Nov. 15 meeting the Teha Lanna Chapter of NSDAR recognized and remembered the service of Vietnam Veterans who served in the Vietnam War. The guest speaker was Jim Walton who reported to Vietnam April 25, 1966. Mr. Walton shared his retrospective of the war based on his personal experiences.

A gift from the estate of Tarleton State University graduate and benefactor Russell Moore has added more than $1.2 million to an endowed scholarship in the College of Business. “We are extremely grateful for generous friends and alumni like Russell Moore,” said Tarleton President James Hurley.

We’ve done a lot of traveling in our life. All of it except one trip to Niagara Falls on the Canadian side, was done right here in the good old US of A. Early in our marriage we were a part of a gospel singing group. We had made three appointments in the state of Virginia.
