Heroes fight loss at Big L Members of the Dublin Volunteer Fire Department posed before being treated to special lunch Sunday, March 20. Members of the crew were busy this past week fighting fires, including the Eastland Complex, which included a downtown Ranger fire which destroyed the Second Baptist Church. Dublin Volunteer firefighters were among dozens of departments (which also included Lingleville and other Erath volunteers) battling wildfires that have consumed thousands of acres for several weeks.

DISD remembers Big Eddie On Monday, April 11, a crowd of parents, students, and Dublin ISD staff gathered on Bob and Norma Cervetto Field to release balloons in honor of DHS student Eddie Hernandez’s 16th birthday. Hernandez was lost in a two-vehicle accident Thursday, April 7 on Highway 67. The sudden loss led to many impromptu events for his grieving classmates.

Hundreds flock fields for first EGGstravaganza Hundreds of kids and parents gathered at the Dublin City Park Friday, April 15 for the inaugural Easter Eggstravaganza, offering more than 10,000 eggs to hunt in four age groups, free hot dogs from Calvary Fellowship, bounce houses, a cake auction, cool treats from Dairy Queen and a photo station with the Easter bunny.
