What a wonderful world at Dublin Elementary. October has been full of fun activities as well as great academic achievements for our students. We have had many sight words superstars, AR certifications, and student shout outs this month on the announcements.

Cards blow Pirates out of the water

The Lingleville Cardinal gave fans a great show on Sr. Night, Thursday following the JV game. The battle on the Lingleville gridiron between the Cards and the Perrin-Whitt Pirates was moved up a day due to the Friday rain forecast.

Sound competes at Area

Dublin fans crowded around the Corner Lot Saturday morning to wish the Sound of Dublin Band luck as they traveled to Denton for the Area B competition after receiving Division 1 ratings at Regionals with their ‘Alien Invasion’ routine.

XC runners compete at Regionals

Managing Editor Dublin Cross Country Runner Yesenia Osoria finished 61 out of 189 runners at the Region I Cross Country Championships on Tuesday. She completed with a time of 14:03.

Lions to take on Eastland

The Dublin Lions are looking for a district win Friday as they head to Eastland to take on the Mavericks at 7 p.m. “Eastland is 0-8 but preseason was pretty brutal,” said Lions head Football Coach and Athletic Director Greg Hardcastle. “They’re a pretty young team as well.

The Lingleville Cardinals are looking for a home win Friday at 7:30 p.m. when they take on Perrin-Whitt. The Cards are 4-4 after falling 54-4 to the Gordon Longhorns in an away game Friday.

Sound of Dublin advances to Area

The Dublin High School Sound of Dublin Band is heading to Area competition in Denton at 4:30 p.m. Saturday after earning Division 1 ratings (the highest ratings possible) in Regional competition in Mineral Wells Saturday. “The kids did a great job for sure,” said DISD Band Director Ronny Luedke.

Lions battle Bulldogs in home defeat

The Dublin Lions faced a big fight Friday night as they hosted the Millsap Bulldogs on the Bob and Norma Cervetto Field. Millsap came out to an early lead in game with long runs, leading to 10-0 in Millsap’s favor at the end of the first quarter. The game ended 38-12 in the visitors’ favor.
