A funeral service for Noel Shoup, World War II veteran and 1936 Dublin High School graduate, has been set for 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11 at Green’s Creek Baptist followed with a burial at Green’s Creek Cemetery. The public is invited to both the service and burial.

Aug. 14 A reporting person requested an officer for a person coming into her apartment and yelling at her. Dublin PD responded for an agency assist on a hit and run that occurred at Bosque River Center. They were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

Dublin High School was recently the recipient of a $500 grant from Carter Blood Care. Schools who hosted at least three blood drives per year are eligible for the grant and the money can be used for scholarships or other needs the district may have.

The Tarleton State University Police Department is offering a self-defense course designed specifically for women. The instructors, Sgt. Amanda Miller and Officer Doug Johnson, will emphasize education and awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance.

The Comanche County Healthcare Foundation reported that tickets are now on sale for the annual dinner and auction fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 16 while bidding for the online auction will start Sunday, Sept. 3. The online September auction starts can be found at handbid.com Sunday, Sept. 3.
