CWJC classes kick off in August

Christian Women’s Job Corporation/Transformation Pathway will begin their regular training program on Tuesday, August 22. The classes will be each Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon and will be seminars on job readiness.

Dublin graduate Lindi Anderson Hamm has always enjoyed baking. “I learned how to bake at a young age watching my mom and grandmothers,” she said. Last year, Hamm started her own bakery business, Lindi Lue’s Fried Pies.

AARP Texas has joined Texas Consumer Association in sending an emergency petition to the Public Utility Commission (PUC) related to the dangerous heat across the state.
Dublin Lions Club traveled to Kerrville on Friday to the Texas Lions Camp to serve root beer floats to handicapped campers, their families and the staff at the camp. About 180 people were served. Thanks to Dublin Bottling Works, Dublin Dairy Queen and Blue Sky Farms for their help in making this public service work possible. Area mourns loss of Eastland Deputy

Dublin and the surrounding area is joining Eastland County as they mourn the loss of ECSO Deputy David Bosecker. The deputy was killed in the line of duty Friday, July 21. At approximately 9 p.m. Friday deputies responded to a domestic fight at a residence between Cisco and Rising Star.

BROWNWOOD GOOD. Water slightly stained; 86-88 degrees; 5.55 feet below pool. Black bass to 7.74 pounds are good on jigs, glide baits, crankbaits and soft plastic worms in 3-20 feet of water. Crappie are slow in brush piles on jigs in 8-15 feet of water on minnows around docks.
