There will be a Backyard Chicken Program July 5th at the Texas AgriLife Research Center (1229 North US HWY 281). The program is hosted by Erath Texas AgriLife Extension Service. Registration will begin at 9:30. The Program will be from 10:00am Noon.

Rodeo Museum lunch pulls support

The Rodeo Heritage Museum held its 4th annual Pulled Pork Drive Thru Lunch on Friday June 23rd. I want to shine a spotlight on those volunteers that can always be counted on. Mary Horn Wood is always present almost every day.

Independence Day events on horizon

As July 4th approaches, several area events are on tap for Erath County citizens to enjoy Independence Day this year. In Stephenville, there will be the annual Fourth of July Celebration with a parade, concert and fireworks set for Tuesday, July 4.

County approves jail help

A new medical clerk will be hired for the Erath County Jail after approval from the Commissioners Court Monday, June 26.

Firework safety paramount for holiday

This year there is no restriction on the sale of fireworks inside Erath County and fireworks will be sold through midnight on July 4. Currently, Erath County is also not under a burn ban due to the amount of rain the county has seen.

Doors open as community moves forward

Greens Creek, a Texas Lifestyle Community, is inviting the community to a special open-house on Saturday, July 1 from 8 a.m. to noon as owners are ready to move forward following a delay with eminent domain.

Deadlines early due to July 4th

The Dublin Citizen will be going to press early next week due to the July 4th holiday. All classifieds, ads and editorial copy must be turned in by noon Monday, July 3. The Citizen will be closed Tuesday, July 4 in observance of the holiday. Delivery of the newspaper will not be affected.

4-year-old lost in drowning accident

After a tragic drowning accident at Splashville in Stephenville, water safety is on the minds of everyone. According to information released by the Stephenville Police Department, on Saturday, June 24 at about 7:49 p.m. a 911 call was received about a possible drowning victim at Splashville.
