Dublin’s annual Hispanic Heritage Festival hosted by the Dublin Chamber of Commerce is right around the corner and will be held Friday, Sept. 29 and Saturday, Sept. 30.

The event will kick off with a free outdoor movie event at 7:30 p.m. on the Dublin Public Library lawn.

‘The Book of Life’ will be shown and everyone is invited to bring their lawn chairs and blankets to hang out and watch this special animated kid friendly film. It is Dublin’s bye football week giving families the perfect opportunity to take in the film.

On Saturday, the event kicks off in high gear at the Dublin City Park with vendor set up from 7-9 a.m. Boxing weigh-in will be held at Grafton Market in downtown Dublin from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

From 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. vendor booths will open showcasing food trucks, bounce houses and a car show.

The Lights Out Boxing Tournament hosted by the Stephenville Boxing Club will kick off at noon at City Park. There are 35 fights scheduled including one female vs. male.

The Cabalgata Trail Ride from Hwy. 847 to the City Park will begin at 2 p.m. and their arrival at the park is slated for 3 p.m. The trail ride food is being provided by Hacienda Camino Real.

Thearrivalof theCabalgata will usher in live music and entertainment on the main stage along with a Dublin Dandi-Lion performance.

From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. there will be bucking broncs, mutton bustin’ and calf scramble and Escaramuzas performances!

For those unfamiliar with escaramuzas, they are a group of females that ride sidesaddle on horseback performing synchronized routines. This year’s performers will be Tierra Azteca from Midlothian who qualified for regionals.

From 8-11 p.m. there will be a dance with live music.

Alcohol is available at the event, however no coolers are allowed and everyone is encouraged to drink responsibly.
