Thanks to some much needed rain, Erath County Judge Brandon Huckabee has canceled the burn ban for the county.
Over the weekend, a temporary lifting of the burn ban took place followed by an announcement Monday, Sept. 18 that the burn ban which was placed in July 20, 2023, has now been canceled.
The Erath County Fire Marshall and other county officials will continue to monitor the fire danger situation daily.
All controlled burns need to be called into dispatch before they are started.
