Walls go up at DG Market

Body
Work is steadily progressing at the planned Dollar General Market location near The Dublin Citizen and Sonic on the north side of town as the frame went up in recent weeks and siding was installed over the weekend and into the beginning of the week. At left, crews work around the entrances’s frame on Saturday, Feb. 17 which had siding by Tuesday morning, Feb. 20 (above). The Dollar General Market will be 9,800 square foot, and the first of its kind in Erath County. The store is slated to open in late Spring 2024. Unlike a regular Dollar General store, a DG Market format offers expanded produce, refrigerated and frozen food offerings, dairy products and more, in addition to an assortment of fresh meats, alongside the general merchandise customers are used to acquiring from Dollar General stores. The company’s fresh produce offerings include an assortment of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, apples, strawberries, potatoes, sweet potatoes, lemons, limes, salad mixes and more. The store plans to employ approximately 10-15 employees, depending on the individual needs of the store. Anyone interested in joining the team may apply for available positions online at www.dollargeneral.com/careers. The regular Dollar General location at 400 South Patrick will also remain open for business.
