Filing continues for local ISD, city council seats

Filers for local elections for school board and city council are continuing to come in for the May 4 election and both Dublin boards will have opportunities for citizens to serve. Filing is open for local elections through Friday, Feb. 16. For Dublin ISD, there are three school board seats up including those currently held by Bob Cervetto, Raymond Salinas and James Moore. Currently, Cervetto, Moore and Salinas have filed to retain their school board seats. Anyone wanting to file for a seat can either pick up a packet at the school district administration office located at 420 North Post Oak or go online. In order to run for school board, an individual must be a U.S. Citizen, be 18 years of age or older on the first day of the term to be filled at the election oronthedateof appointment, has not been determined by a final judgment of a court exercisingprobatejurisdiction to be totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote, has not been finally convicted of a felony from which the individual has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities, has resided continuously in the state for 12 months and within Dublin ISD boundaries for 6 months and is registered to vote in the territory.
