A. A. (Gus) Hartgrove, was a wealthy man who came to Dublin about 1890. While here, he married Miss Cora McKinnie who taught school in Dublin. He built the Dublin Oil Mill, later to be known as The Peanut Mill, between 1890 and 1907.

2023 Comanche County Pecan Show

The last two years have been devastating for the Central Texas pecan industry. In both 2022 and 2023, we have seen extreme and exceptional drought conditions in Central Texas and Comanche County pecan orchards. In Comanche County we saw income from pecans sales drop from $24,172,000.

House fire displaces 7

A family of seven have been displaced after a structure fire occurred over the weekend in Dublin. On Saturday, Oct. 28, a fire occurred at 2:16 p.m. at 620 E. Myrtle Street. Dublin VFD, Dublin EMS and Dublin Police Department responded to the mobile home fire.

Neighbors called to help household

Revitalize Dublin is calling all volunteers to help a local family as they work on the second project this Saturday (Nov. 4) at 8 a.m. This project centers on wrapping and installing siding and underpinning on a residence at 432 N. Park.

Election Day set for Tuesday, Nov. 7; voting offered in Dublin

Election Day for the state Constitutional Amendments is next Tuesday and Dublin voters will have one last chance to make their voices heard in early voting this week. Early voting will be held 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2-Friday, Nov. 3.
