MTGCD offering scholarship

The Middle Trinity Groundwater Conservation District are now accepting applications for a scholarship opportunity to all senior students residing in one of the four counties, Bosque, Comanche, Coryell, and Erath, that overlap the District boundary.

Jan. 9 A reporting person in the 500 block of South Patrick stated that the neighbor threw rocks at his building while he was playing music the previous day. Officer spoke with both parties and they were advised to call the PD if there were issues in the future.

Commissioners talk new building

At a brief commissioners court meeting Monday, Jan. 23, Erath commissioners handled 24 agenda items. Commissioner Dee Stephens provided an update on the new county annex building under construction. Stephens explained the completion date is the middle of June. “They are right on track,” he said.

Surprise reception honors retiring Dublin couple

More than 50 neighbors came to Granny Clark’s on Sunday, Jan. 15 to wish Ralph and Peggy DeLaVergne, owners of DeLaVergne Plumbing and Remodeling, well as they retired at the beginning of this year. The couple started the Dublin plumbing business in 2007 and officially retired as of Dec. 31, 2022.

Love Run set for Feb. 11

The 5th Annual Love Run 5k and Mile Fun Run is set for Saturday, Feb. 11 by the Dublin Public Library with registration/check-in from 8 a.m.-8:45 a.m. The annual event benefits Transformation Pathway, Dublin’s local Christian Women’s/Men’s Job Corps ministry.

Filing now open for council, ISD races

Filing is underway for three city and two school board positions for the election to be held in Dublin during the May 6 general election. Deadline to file is Feb. 17 by 5 p.m. On the school side, the positions held by Blanca Martineau and Bill Rodriguez are up for election.
