Annual rainfall lowest in a decade

Dublin again had a dry year with the lowest rainfall amount in a decade occurring in 2022, with a significant drought that contributed into an extreme wildfire season. Rainfall for Dublin, as collected and reported by the Dublin Citizen every week on page A4, was at 22.5, much lower than the 40.

Dublin sales tax collections were up substantially in November, at 15.92% higher compared to November 2021, according to the state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar this month. For the month of November 2022, Dublin received $46,210.98 compared to $39,863.

It won’t just be Irish eyes smiling as the Miss Dublin pageant returns to the St. Patrick’s festivities after a multiple-year hiatus. The season will kick off Feb. 5 at 1: 30 p.m. with the orientation at the Dublin Intermediate cafeteria.
