BROWNWOOD Water stained; 47 degrees; 5.20 low. Largemouth bass are slow with swimbaits, blade baits, and jigs near creeks. Crappie are slow on minnows in brush piles and timber edges near a creek channel or drop-off. White bass and hybrids are slow on slabs and trolling swimbaits.

Storm leaves shelves empty- again

The shelves of Texas grocery stores were seriously picked over, if not empty, for the second time in less than a year, said a Texas A&M AgriLife expert. But winter storm-related supply chain shortages are different than those consumers experienced during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Erath County officials reported 20 new cases of COVID-19 in the report from Monday, Feb. 22 that was released the next morning. This included six positive cases within the city limits of Stephenville, four within the city limits of Dublin and 10 among rural residents.

DISD combining March/Feb. school board meetings

February 6 At 3:53 p.m. a fire broke out on CR 255 and took several trips of the area fire departments to refill their tankers with water to put it out. February 8 At 8:54 a.m. a major accident between a vehicle and an 18-wheeler on Hwy 377 South prompted fire and EMS dispatched, one fatality.

February 15 A report was made for a damaged hotel room at Central Inn. A report was made for a green wire that was hanging down in their driveway on the 400 block of Blackjack. February 16 Caller reported that a black and white husky was left outside with no heat or shelter on Ella.
