Weekly COVID Report - April 9, 2021

Erath County officials reported four new cases of COVID-19 in the report from Thursday, April 8 that was released the next morning. Three of the positive cases were within the city limits of Stephenville while the other was a rural resident of the county.

Sign ups still open 15U baseball/softball

The Dublin Baseball and Softball Association (DBSA) is still seeking players for the 15U baseball and softball teams with the deadline being April 15. They provided the message in the accompanying graphic regarding complications they have had in getting sign ups so players are needed for both teams.

Forage producers face high input costs

Higher fertilizer prices and poor precipitation outlook could mean thin margins and little room for error for cattle and forage producers this year, according to a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service expert. Producers move cattle on to forage.

Crop Report

AgriLife Extension district reporters compiled the following summary for the Central district: Soil moisture declined as conditions were warm and very windy with little measurable precipitation. Livestock looked great and were benefiting from the fresh regrowth of winter forages.

100 years April 8, 1921 “The Microbe of Love” was presented at the Dublin auditorium. Mollie Moore Godbold, the author of the play personally directing the production. The play had been presented on professional stages in the area and throughout the US and was been very popular.
