DeLeon Free Press Police gave chase Saturday morning which ended in a wreck. Aaron Lee Harris, 23, was taken into custody after allegedly evading police in Dublin. The chase continued onto Highway 16 into DeLeon where he wrecked the vehicle and caught on fire.

The 2021 Dublin FFA

The 2021 Dublin FFA Cotton Judging Team (above) placed 2nd at the Anson Invitational CDE contest. Wyatt Watson was 2nd high individual in the contest and Maeleigh Geijsel was 5th high individual in the contest. Also judging well were Joli St.

For most of Jeremy Weems’ life, he had no plans. Battling with drug addiction and constantly in and out of jail, Weems spent his time following the next high. But the past few years have been good to Weems. Nearly 3 years clean and sober, he now owns his own business with his wife.

Fish Fry continues Friday

Weekly COVID Update

Erath County officials reported six new cases of COVID-19 in the report from Monday, March 1 that was released the next morning. This included two positive cases within the city limits of Stephenville, one within the city limits of Dublin and three among rural residents.

Dublin Elementary named its newest Little Lion Leaders for being a positive example. They are: Pre-K-Sofia Hinojosa, Stephen Lutz; Kindergarten-Allison Loflin, Julius Moreno; First Grade-Obed Vazquez, Liberty Kirk; Second Grade-Emma Clark, Mason Joslin; and Third Grade-Crystal Ortiz, Jayce Parker.

SHERIFF'S REPORT

February 19 At 6:33 p.m. a house was reported on fire on CR 264 near Hico when heavy smoke was seen. February 20 At 2:18 p.m. wires were seen hanging low over Hwy 108 North near FM 3025 causing a traffic hazard. TxDot was notified. At 6:01 p.m.

POLICE LOG

February 22 Reporting person came into the station to file an identity theft report on Blackjack. February 23 Caller reported that a little dog tried to attack her on Grafton.
