We have an excellent 5-hour CEU program planned for Friday, February 24th from 8:30 until 3:00 at the DeLeon City Auditorium. This year the bulk of the program will focus on forage production.

Agriculture census due Feb. 4

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller reminds the Texas agriculture community that the USDA’s deadline to respond to the 2022 Census of Agriculture is Monday, February 6th. Producers can respond online at agcounts.usda. gov.

Tips offered to protect pipes

As a strong winter storm was expected to impact Texas, State Farm reminded that frozen pipes and ice dams could become a large concern for destructive water damage. State Farm recently released 2022 top states for frozen pipes and winter water losses, and Texas was number one.

Legion hosting Four Chaplains service

A Four Chaplains Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5 at The American Legion Building, 801 East Washington, Stephenville. Entrance and parking location is on the Northside of the building off Clark Street. Disabled parking available on upper level. The public is invited.

Tarleton career fair rescheduled Friday

Due to inclement weather Tarleton State University’s Mayfield College of Engineering job fair has been reschedule for Friday, Feb. 3. The free, come-and-go event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the corridors of the Engineering Building.

Love Run returns Feb. 11

Registration for the 5th Annual Love Run 5k and Mile Fun Run on Saturday, Feb. 11 is continuing and citizens are running to participate and support Transformation Pathway, Dublin’s local Christian Women’s/Men’s Job Corps ministry.

Local filings continue for ISD, city races

Filing is continuing for three city and two school board positions for the election to be held in Dublin during the May 6 general election. Deadline to file is Feb. 17 by 5 p.m. On the school side, the positions held by Blanca Martineau and Bill Rodriguez are up for election.
