New laws in effect

When Texas college students return to their campuses after the winter break, they’ll discover the lights are still off in their campuses’ diversity offices. That’s because a new law that outlaws such work at the state’s higher education institutions went into effect, Jan. 1.

“God gained an amazing warrior.” These were the words used to honor the life of Victor Castillo, the pastor of Calvary Fellowship of Dublin, on the sign at Dublin’s Dairy Queen. He passed on Friday, Dec. 29 at the age of 45.

TDA, USDA commits 11.5M to strengthen food supply

On Tuesday, Dec. 19, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller announced the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) has a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Departmentof Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) under the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program (RFSI).

Four appointed to Animal Health Commission

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Anthony “T.J.” Klein and Johnny E. Trotter and reappointed Joseph Osterkamp and Wendee Payne, Ph.D. to the Texas Animal Health Commission for terms set to expire on Sept. 6, 2029.
