A two vehicle collision in Comanche County claimed the life of a DeLeon man on Wednesday, March 13.
According to a Highway patrol report by officers from Coleman, Stephenville and Brownwood, a 2003 Harley Davidson sportster motorcycle driven by James Dean, 56, of DeLeon was traveling north on FM1496 around 7:20 p.m.
Reporting stated the motorcycle crossed into the oncoming southbound lane, where a 2000 Freightliner truck towing a semi trailer was heading south. The truck was driven by Francisco Javier Carrasco Ortega, 32 of Del Bosque, Mexico.
The truck reportedly attempted evasive action steering away from the motorcycle when the bike struck the trailer on the left side.
Dean was pronounced deceased at Texas Health Hospital by Justice of the Peace David Martin.
