Lady Lions take W from Whitney

Lions cut teeth for District

“Close, but no cigar,” said Dublin Lions head boys basketball coach Wes Grisham of the of the 57-53 away loss against Axtell on Dec. 5. “We had them on the ropes then lost the lead and didn’t get it back until late in the 4th quarter,” he continued.

Lions get district honors

Several Dublin Lions were recognized for their gridiron game recently as the 3A District II All-District selections were announced. DHS junior Caige Balvantin was named 1st team offensive and defensive line.

Cattle for Kids Friday

Dublin Livestock Auction is hosting the 4th Annual Calves for Kids Fundraiser Friday, Dec. 15 to bring a Merry Christmas to kids in local communities. Donated cattle and cash are currently being collected. The cattle will be sold during the regular Dec.

Schools set Christmas programs

Local schools have festive programs set this month in honor of the Christmas holidays. The Dublin ISD Band Christmas program is set for Thursday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. in the main gym featuring the high school, jr. high and 6th grade beginner bands.

Ladies fight hard in tourney

The Dublin Lady Lions showed their fight in the Dublin Athletic Booster Club Tournament games last week, facing Crawford in their final game with only five on the court. Despite losses in the games, the varsity girls were able to achieve some good moments and get on the board.

Lions top consolation bracket

The Dublin Lions claimed the consolation championship at the Dublin Athletic Booster Club Tournament after roping in the Tolar Rattlers 50-47 on Saturday, Dec. 2. “Our defense was the reason for our success,” said head basketball coach Wes Grisham.
