Cross Country claims more gold

The Dublin varsity Cross Country boys took home another team gold on Oct. 15 at the Lipan Invitational meet while Lucero Marquez took first in the girls event. This boys’ first-place finish came after the Dublin runners claimed four top 10 spots in the boys 5000M event.

Lady Lions massacre Maidens

Saturday’s game against Comanche was a victory for the Lady Lions after losing against Bangs on Oct. 13 making their record 5-7. The Bangs Lady Dragons took sets one, two and four with scores of 25-5, 25-14 and 25-19 at the away game on Oct. 13. Dublin won set three with a score of 25-12.

Next games critical for Lions

“The next two games are critical,” said Dublin Head Football Coach/Athletic Director Bob Cervetto. The Dublin Lions are at 0-2 in District after a 47-7 loss to the Jacksboro Tigers on Friday night. As often is the case, the score doesn’t tell the whole story of the game.

BROWNWOOD GOOD. Water clear; 76 degrees; 1.66 low. Largemouth bass are fair with shad colored crankbaits, jigs, and plum or green Carolina rigged plastic worms in 15-25’ near dropoffs and standing timber. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs in brush piles and timber near a creek channel.

Lions battle Comanche

The Dublin Lions ended Friday’s district opener with a 38-6 loss against Comanche Indians, but nothing was penetrating either team’s defenses in the first quarter.

Dublin XC claims more medals at ‘Thrill’
