As the calendar turns, the newest class of Tarleton Hall of Fame studentathletes has been announced. The Tarleton Athletics Hall of Fame will welcome five new members from four storied programs in May as the class of 2023.

Lions 2-2 in tournament

The Dublin Lions went 2-2 in the Brownwood Holiday Classic basketball tournament last week. The Lions started with losses to Gatesville (94-53) and Wall (62-42) before rebounding with wins against Brady (53-48) and Big Spring ( 77- 59).

The Dublin Lady Lions are looking for a district win and are 8-8 for the season following an away loss to Peaster on Dec. 20. The final score was 102-27 in Peaster’s favor. “We came out and played timid,” said head Dublin girls basketball coach Kim Perez.

The Dublin Lady Lions were 1-1 in District following a Friday night victory over Early at home. The game started out with some give and take but the home team started hitting their stride in the second quarter and was leading 28-21 at the half. The finals score was 58-40 in the Lady Lions’ favor.
