GRANBURY
SLOW. Water stained; 53 degrees; 8.35 feet below pool. Black bass to 5 pounds are good on Alabama rigs and jigs in 6-12 feet of water. Crappie are fair starting to stage for the spawn near the mouth of the creeks in 5-10 feet of water. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow.
FAIR. Water lightly stained; 52 degrees; 1.55 feet below pool. The majority of the fish are still in deeper water, especially on those colder days. Stripers are fair to good with catches up to 11 pounds near Sandy Point, Indian Harbor, and in town by the Hilton. Sand bass are in these same areas including the river near the Peninsula. Stripers continue to be good on swimbaits and the sand bass are good on small grubs and slabs. Black bass to 6 pounds are good on soft plastics on those warmer afternoons near creek entrances. Catfish are good near Hunter Park on cut bait and hot dogs. Crappies are good on small minnows and jigs near deeper structure and bridge pilings.
POSSUM KINGDOM
GOOD. Water lightly stained; 47-50 degrees; 5.91 feet below pool. Striper fishing is amazing, especially using live shad. Fish are scattered across large areas in 20-40 feet of water. Deadsticking is also producing fish using white and chartreuse soft plastics. Sand bass are also amazing in 20-30 feet of water on small live shad, but some fish can also be caught using small white and chartreuse jigs and flukes. Catfish are fair out deeper than usual in 10-20 feet of water biting on small cut shad or Buffalo. Water clarity is 2 feet on the north end of the lake to 8 feet on the south end of the lake.
PROCTOR
SLOW. Water stained; 55 degrees; 9.17 feet below pool. The catfish bite has been very slow, and baitfish are difficult to find.
WEATHERFORD
SLOW. Water stained; 46 degrees; 7.59 feet below pool. Crappie are fair on brush piles and rocks near the dam on jigs and live minnows. Catfish are slow off rocks near the dam with cut bait and stink bait. White bass are slow on slabs. Bass are slow in deep water using crankbaits and jigs.
WHITNEY
GREAT. Water lightly stained; 50 degrees; 6.38 feet below pool. Crappie are good in pre-spawn mode. Fish are suspended in the main creek channel 5-20 feet deep’. Catching single roaming fish suspended on timber near the mouth of the main creek in 10 feet of water. Report by Robert Stover, Workingman Crappie Guide. Stripers are good to 12 pounds in the river above the lake and in huge schools of fish on the main lake near McCown Valley. Black bass fishing is good to excellent on soft plastics worked near creek entrances and just off the Bluffs. Crappie are excellent in the river near Kimball Bend.
