Summer reading continues

The Dublin Public Library Tails and Tales Summer Reading Program is underway. Readers can pick up a log at the library and record the books they are reading. Logs can be turned in between July 1 and July 31 by 2 p.m. for free books and a chance to win prizes.

Where Are They Now? Frank Ellis

When Frank Ellis was growing up, he never stayed in one place for too long. “My dad was in the military, and we were kind of like gypsy kids,” he said. We moved around a lot.

June 26 At 11:53 a.m. a black and white belted Galloway calf was reported missing from CR 319. At 1:52 p.m. a black hardware drums case with two gray straps, four handles and two wheels was lost near Moo View Dairy on CR 394. At 4:11 p.m. a baler caught on fire on FM 188 West.

POLICE LOG

June 28 An officer was out with two individuals at the library on Liveoak. Caller reported that someone ran through their fence over the weekend on Harris. June 29 A report was made for a dog that may have been dumped at the school barn on Liberty.

Reception to honor Hendon

The Dublin Public Library and Erath County Genealogical Society invite the community to join them in honoring Janella Hendon. A library reception will be held Saturday, July 17th at 12:30 p.m.

Abbott sends orders to PUC

On Tuesday, Governor Greg Abbott sent a letter to members of the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) directing them to take immediate action to improve electric reliability across the state.

FBC to host mobile COVID clinic

Dublin First Baptist Church (220 E. Live Oak) is hosting a free COVID-19 Pfizer Vaccine pop-up clinic on Monday, July 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The clinic is being conducted by Texas Health Resources and is open to all persons 12 and older.

Ball to ‘rock the Bosque’

The Bosque Arts Center welcomes legendary rhythm and blues pianist Marcia Ball and her band on Saturday, July 10, at 7 p.m. Often compared to Fats Domino and Memphis Slim, Ball plans to “rock the Bosque” when she comes to Clifton.
