Community invited to free screening

The community is invited to a free screening of “The Light of Virsa,” a Christian epic produced by the Vining Sisters and scored by 18-year-old Erath resident Diego Campos. The screening will be held Thursday, July 8 at Tarleton’s Clyde H. Wells Auditorium. Merchandise will be sold from 6:30 p.m.

Wright to exit EDC for new group

Dublin EDC members accepted the resignations of Executive Director Karen Wright and board member Dr. Joe Cannon during the regular EDC meeting on Tuesday, June 22. Board members present unanimously approved Lanora Davidson to fill the unexpired seat left by Cannon.

July 4 festivities Saturday

Erath County will be seeing red, white and blue with the return of the annual 4th of July Celebration to Stephenville, with most festivities set for July 3 at Stephenville City Park. Saturday’s festivities kick off with the All-American Parade, beginning at the south entrance of the park at 9 a.m.

AgTexas Farm Credit Services awarded $21,000 in scholarships virtually from the AgTexas corporate office in Lubbock on Facebook Live. The member-owned cooperative, which provides financial services to the agricultural community in 43 Texas counties, hosted a drawing for the scholarships at 4:00 p.m.
