The Lingleville Cardinals basketball team ended their season as Bi-District Champions after falling 49-43 to the Cherokee Indians Friday night in Brownwood at the Area Championship game. The team was 18-12 for the season and 8-4 in district.

SLOW. Water stained; 53 degrees; 8.35 feet below pool. Black bass to 5 pounds are good on Alabama rigs and jigs in 6-12 feet of water. Crappie are fair starting to stage for the spawn near the mouth of the creeks in 5-10 feet of water. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow. FAIR.

Pirates’ life for Pickett

Cooper Pickett is looking forward to his future of playing football for the Southwestern University Pirates in Georgetown. On Wednesday, Feb. 8, Pickett signed to play football as an offensive line guard, complete with $48,000 in scholarships and grants for academic excellence.
