Home Run Derby hits Saturday

Lions fans can pitch in to the program while having fun during the March 18 Dublin Lions Home Run Derby benefitting the Dublin Lion baseball and softball teams. The swinging competition will be held at the Dublin High School Baseball Field from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lady Lions face tough week

The Lady Lions softball team had a busy week facing tough opponents and growing as a team. On March 7, they faced Brock in a 17-0 away loss. “We started off really strong and fought against Brock,“ said head Lady Lions softball coach Teryl Dunn.

DHS FCCLA headed to state

Paul Gaudette Managing Editor Dublin High School is sending 12 students to the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) state competition after they place high in competition last week. “I am very proud of each of these students,” said Dublin FCCLA sponsor Regina Rasberry.

DHS FPS groups headed to state

Dublin ISD announced it is sending several teams to the state Future Problem Solvers State Bowl at the Waco Convention Center April 14-16.

Lifters headed to state

Two Dublin High School girls are headed to the state powerlifting meet on March 16 following the regional meet held Saturday at Dublin. Mariana Ortiz qualified for advancement following a first place finish in the 198 with a total of 945 pounds, 360 in squat, 245 in bench and 340 in dead lift.

Sound earns Sweeps

The Sound of Dublin earned its first Sweepstakes award since the 2019-20 school year. This distinction came after the band traveled to the UIL concert and sightreading evaluation at Hamilton High School in Hamilton.

Dublin Lions snag first W

The Dublin Lions scored their first win of the season this past week in the Coleman tournament as they continued to grow as a team. The victory came when the Lions went 16-10 against Brady thanks to solid pitching by Jose Lopez and Cooper Pickett leading offense with a 3-run home run.

Lady Lions best Bearcats

The Dublin Lady Lions bested the DeLeon Lady Bearcats 9-8 on the Dublin diamond on Feb. 28. “The girls fought hard and stayed upbeat and positive through the whole game,” said Lady Lions head softball coach Teryl Dunn.
