Lions change venue for season’s end

Following the rain and hail that hit the Dublin area last week, the Dublin Lions switched venues from DHS to Tarleton State University due to ground conditions for the final game of the 2022-23 season.

Dublin Lions increased their season stats after splitting losses in games last week. Vs. Comanche Dublin began the week triumphantly with an 8-5 away win against the Comanche Indians on April 18.

Dublin High School is sending two athletes to Regional competition on April 28 and 29 after they placed high at last week’s Area meet in Jacksboro. Senior Dalan Rasberry placed first in the long jump with total of 22’3.75” to advance to the next round.

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 65-70 degrees; 8.98 feet below pool. Black bass to 6.43 pounds are good on topwater walking baits, jigs, and crankbaits in 1-8 feet of water. The bass are nearly done spawning, with many fish in post spawn.

Tarletons adds beach volleyball

Tarleton’s growth as a national contender in intercollegiate athletics continues as the university announced the addition of the fastest-growing Olympic sport in the country, Beach Volleyball. Tarleton will join Conference USA as an affiliate member in the sport beginning Fall 2023.

Tracksters advance to Area

Dublin is sending four varsity athletes to Area competition in Jacksboro today following strong performances at District finals in Dublin last week. DHS senior Dalan Rasberry is advancing in long jump after a first place 22’10” finish and the triple jump after a second place 43’2.5” finish.
