Gipson named in All-WAC honors

In a Tarleton basketball career filled with firsts, senior Montre Gipson has added yet another installment to his laundry list of individual feats. The 5-11 guard garnered Preseason Media All-Western Athletic Conference first team accolades on Tuesday as announced by conference officials.

Dublin sending 8 to Regionals

Dublin is sending eight runners to regionals (Monday at 2:30 p.m. in Lubbock) following their performance in the district contest held Oct. 14 in Dublin (JV and Varsity events were delayed from Oct. 13 due to rain while Jr. High events were moved to Oct. 20.

Lions capture home win by 1

The difference between a win and loss can be a single point. Dublin Lions experienced this Friday night in their 21-20 home victory over the Jacksboro Tigers. “The special teams ended up being the difference in the game,” said Dublin Lions Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Greg Hardcastle.

Lingleville Cards at 5-1, Lady Cards at 4-10

The Lingleville Cardinals started their district schedule with a 60-58 nailbiter against the Gorman Panthers. This moves their season record to 5-1 as they prepare to face the Santa Anna Mountaineers at home Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Lady Lions beat Bangs, conquer Comanche

The Dublin Lady Lions rose their season record to 15-9 (7-4 in District) following a pair of wins last week. The Dublin girls played the Bangs Dragons on Oct. 12 at home, claiming a victory in three sets ad the visitors captured 14, 17 and 18 to Dublin’s 25s.
