Thiam makes WAC Player of the Week

Tarleton women’s basketball went 2-0 this past week, largely thanks to Seynabou Thiam’s epic performances. For her efforts, Thiam was named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday. Thiam averaged 12.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 5.0 blocks and 1.

Dublin Lady Lions gather to stop the ball during Friday’s 36-20 win over Brady at home. The girls returned to the home gym on Tuesday where they played Peaster in a game that ended 84-32 in the visitors’ favor. The Lady Lions head to Gordon Tuesday through Dec. 30 for tournament play.

Dublin ISD board hires staff

Dublin School Board President Jeff Weaver stepped down during a regular Monday night meeting addressing several staff positions. Weaver reportedly stepped down so that his wife, Lisa Weaver, could accept a position teaching junior high art.

Tourney fills DHS gyms

Dublin Secondary gyms were filled Thursday through Saturday for a successful Dublin Athletic Booster Club Basketball tournament with more than 10 schools traveling in to compete in the JV and varsity brackets.
