BROWNWOOD SLOW. Water stained; 62-65 degrees; 2.79 feet low. Bass are good with catches up to 7.5 pounds on jigs, crankbaits and spinner baits in 1-10 feet of water. Crappie are excellent with catches just under two pounds on minnow imitation soft plastics in 3-9 feet of water.

DISD approves contracts

The Dublin ISD School Board approved three probationary teacher contracts following executive discussion during the regular board meeting on April 19.

On to Regionals

Tyler Harrell (left) and Mosiah Lolohea (right) are advancing to regional track competition today and tomorrow at Abilene Christian University after strong performances at Area in Breckenrisdge last week. Harrell finished 4th in long jump and 2nd in triple jump. Lolohea finished 3rd in shot put.

Tarleton Football

arleton Football game action returns to Memorial Stadium this Saturday for the Texans’ 2022 Spring Game. It will be “Purple vs. White” featuring Tarleton’s spring football roster, with kickoff set for 6 p.m. CT. The game is free for all students and fans to attend.

Record broken as tracksters advance

Dublin High School senior Tyler Harrell took first and broke the school record in long jump with a jump of 23’ 4” during the district meet held at Dublin on April 13 and 14. Boy track coach Tyler Sattler reported that this mark was the best in all of 3A as of the end of the event.

FFA takes awards at Area

Dublin FFA took home several awards at the Area IV Career and Leadership Development Events contest on April 13 at Tarleton State University. The Entemology team is heading to state after taking first place and individual awards.
