GRANBURY

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 76 degrees; 0.75 feet low. Bait fish have been a little more scattered than normal. Finding them in the main river channel in the heat of the day and shallower after sundown. Flathead catfish have been slow and hitting smaller baits than usual. Channel and blue catfish are picking up on cut buffalo, and small 2-3 inch threadfin shad outperforming gizzard shad currently by a large margin. Eater sized channels readily biting prepared baits. Most fish have been coming out of 2-5 feet of water. Report by Jeffery Sojourner, Sojourner Fishing. Striped bass and white bass are good moving fast, biting topwaters early in the morning throughout the reservoir in 15-60 feet of water. Lots of smaller sized fish being caught. Catfish are good in 20-50 feet of water on cut bait. Report provided by Kraig Sexton, Sexton’s Guide Service LLC. Largemouth bass are good on soft plastics around boat docks and deeper rock ledges. Still a decent topwater bite early on flats and shallow points, but the fish are moving deep quickly in the morning.
