Lions start district Friday

The 2-3 Dublin Lions taking to the road Friday night as they the 1-4 Merkel Badgers at 7:30 p.m. in the first district game of the season.

SLOW. Water slightly stained; 81-83 degrees; 7.11 feet low. Bass are good to 8.57 pounds on crankbaits around docks with brush 12-20 feet of water and on shaky heads and jigs. Crappie to 1.25 pounds are fair on minnows suspended under docks. White bass good on crankbaits and jigs under the lights.

Tarleton announces women’s basketball schedule

After a successful 2021-22 campaign, the Tarleton women’s basketball team will look to keep momentum going this upcoming season, as the Texans announced their 2022-23 schedule on Thursday. The Texans will play 29 regular season games this upcoming year, beginning Nov.

Cards slay Dragons

Lingleville Cardinals’ record flew to 4-1 Thursday night after a 68-22 home game against the Iredell Dragons ended in the fourth quarter under the 45-point mercy rule. “The boys came out a little slow but really picked it up,” said LHS head football coach Trent Taylor.

Dublin hosted 20 schools in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Cross Country run on Sept. 21 at Dublin Secondary School.

Lions snag 34-23 Homecoming W

The Dublin Lions snagged their second win of the season in an active 34-23 homecoming victory over the Florence Buffaloes. The Lions showed they came to fight immediately with a touchdown on the first kickoff return of the game.
