Garden Club learns floral design

The Dublin Garden Club held their regular monthly meeting March 13, at the Laurel Street United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Pam Bills, owner of the Dublin Florist Shop, was our guest speaker. Pam made a gorgeous flower topiary, explaining the differentflowersandgreenery as she put the topiary together. Then Pam donated it to us to draw for the topiary. Carla Stevens was the winner.

Motorcycle wreck claims life

A two vehicle collision in Comanche County claimed the life of a DeLeon man on Wednesday, March 13. According to a Highway patrol report by officers from Coleman, Stephenville and Brownwood, a 2003 Harley Davidson sportster motorcycle driven by James Dean, 56, of DeLeon was traveling north on FM1496 around 7:20 p.m.

DISD approves hybrid calendar again

A hybrid school calendar has been approved by the Dublin ISD School Board for the 2024-25 school year. Much like this year, Dublin students and teachers will see many Mondays off essentially sprinkling four day weeks throughout the year.

New farm-to-table option launches in Erath

Dubliners will soon have a new way to secure quality food as the Cross Timbers REKO launches. For those unfamiliar with REKO, it is an acronym for the Finnish words, “rejäl konsumtion” meaning responsible consumption and is a way to buy locally produced food, completely without intermediaries, directly from the producer to consumer.

Largest ever animal seizure occurs in county

Law enforcement officers are investigating more than 100 instances of alleged animal cruelty, resulting in the largest animal seizure ever in Erath County. According to information released by the Erath County Sheriff’s Office, about two weeks ago deputies were called to a property on CR 712 near Huckabay in Erath County in reference to a dead animal on a neighbor’s property.
