Lingleville High School student council officers delivered a large donation of food they gathered as part of a food drive to The Pantry & More on Monday morning. The drive was conducted as a competition based on points attributed to donated items.

Donations sought for Shop with a Cop

Dublin PD and all of Erath’s law agencies are asking the community to help them bring Christmas to kids in need during the second annual Shop with a Cop program Dublin Police Chief Cameron Ray reported that the program has increased the amount being spent on every child from $150 to $200.

100 Years Ago Nov. 18, 1921 Drilling started at the Texas-Iowa Oil Syndicate’s Laney Well No. 2 (near Duffau) started on Nov. 10. Drilling was being led by Mr. Tubbs of Stephenville, a West Virginia man who had success drilling in fields in West Virginia, Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas.

When Larry Jones was growing up in Dublin in the 1950s, he dreamed of flying. He’d build model aircraft from templates on cereal boxes, and stand outside on his parents’ farm and watch the planes fly over. Jones was able to achieve his dream, serving as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam.
