Critical fire weather is forecast through Dec. 26 for portions of North and West Texas, with Dec. 24 holding the most potential for wildfire activity, particularly in the Panhandle.

POLICE LOG

December 15 Dublin PD was informed of cows running loose on FM 219 South. A caller reported a power line was down at the corner of Grafton and May Sttreet. A Reporting Person advised Dublin PD of a reckless driver coming into Dublin and swerving all over the road on N. Patrick Street.

Hico News-Review Winners were announced in the 2nd Annual City of Hico Christmas Decoration contest. First place business winner was Koffee Kup while second place went to 2nd Street Bakeshop. First place residential went to Brendan & Kaylee McKinney at 417 N.

Turning Back the Pages

75 Years Ago Jan. 4, 1946 Blanche Jones, Erath County School Superintendent for the common school districts, announced the dispersal of $5 per capita for students enrolled. Erath as a whole had a total of 3,555 students amounting to a total payment of $17,775 to be split amongst the schools.

Chamber Chat

Holiday Cheer We had much to be cheerful about in Dublin this season. While challenges have arisen in the past year, as a community we have come together to celebrate, laugh, learn, honor, and fellowship in various events.

Giving Hope

Brookshire Brothers has been running its Brown Bags of Hope program with Dublin customers able to purchase $10 bags of food and supplies to be disbursed by the Dublin First United Methodist Church food pantry. Staff at the grocery store report that the community has been very generous so far.
