Donations sought for Shop with a Cop

Dublin PD and all of Erath’s law agencies are asking the community to help them bring Christmas to kids in need during the second annual Shop with a Cop program Dublin Police Chief Cameron Ray reported that the program has increased the amount being spent on every child from $150 to $200.

When heading east in the 1950s and 1960s, just as highway 6 curved there was an interesting collection of items on the right side of the road that was sure to catch your attention. It was Sam Strong’s Junk Yard. This particular junk yard had an amazing collection of metal.

POLICE LOG

November 8 A caller reported two large dogs were being aggressive with her cats and ran away near Family Dollar. A Reporting person found a used syringe and empty bag that had possibly contained marijuana near the 200 block of May. Dublin PD properly disposed of the items.

Filing open for primaries

The filing period for the 2022 Texas Primary Elections officially opened on Vov. 13, allowing candidates to file with their respective party chairs for a place on the March 1, 2022 primary ballot.

100 Years Ago Nov. 25, 1921 Miss Quarles, recently of Fort Worth was officially tapped as Red Cross nurse for Erath County. It was announced that It was announced that Harry Powell American Legion Post 219 was officially organized and was meeting in Dublin’s city hall every Friday night.

Where Are They Now?

Danny Barbee spent six years in the military, but his service to his country didn’t end when he was discharged. For the past 3 years, he’s been helping out fellow veterans as an engineer at the US Department of Veterans Affairs in Big Spring, Texas. “It’s all about helping local veterans,” he said.
