Comanche County Crops CEU Program Offers 5 CEU’s

This year’s crop program will focus on cotton and peanuts with top specialist for each crop covering topics that will help all our local farmers.

This program is also packed with CEU’s that will help both private and commercial applicators get their required CEU’s. The program will be held on Friday, February 25th at the DeLeon City Auditorium located at 125 South Texas St., Deleon, Texas.

Registration will begin at 8:30 AM, the program will start at 9 a.m. and go until 3 p.m. The cost is $50.

Speakers will include Scott Nolte Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Weed Specialist via video- “Auxin Training”, John Cason-Peanut Breeder and Geneticist, Texas A&M AgriLife Research, talking about “Nematode Management in Peanuts”. Ben McKnight-State Cotton Specialist, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, talking about “Managing New Technologies in Cotton”.

After Lunch we will have Cecilia Monclova-Santana Texas A&M Peanut and Cotton Plant Pathologist and Emi Kimura-State Peanut Specialist talking about “Peanut Diseases, Pest Management and Prevention”, Jason Jones, Texas Department of Agriculture- “Laws and Regulations”. All presentations except Auxin training will be in-person.

Most private applicator license expire in the spring on the 5th year of the license. Be sure to check your license expiration date.

You should get an expiration notice from TDA, but if you have moved or had a change of address, you may not receive the notice.

We will offer 5 total CEU’s 2 L&R, 2 IPM and 1 general. Commercial applicators will be able to fulfill their CEU requirements for the year. The first hour will be the Auxin Training required when spraying dicamba products on cotton.
