Plans are in development for Comanche County Hospital District to open a 76-bed nursing home to benefit the local area, but issues resulting from the pandemic have left the project with a $4 million shortfall and the need for donor support so they can break ground on the facility in the spring.

Schools review safety audits

On June 30, Gov. Greg Abbott and the Texas Education Agency released a list of required safety steps for all schools before the start of the fall semester. These steps include each Local Education Agency (LEA) conducting a summer targeted partial safety audit and an exterior door safety audit.
