DAR to meet Tuesday, Nov. 8

The Bosque River Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas will meet at 2 p.m. Nov. 8 at the First Presbyterian Church of Stephenville. The program will be presented by chapter member, Sheran Weible.

Dublin has a new candy crush

Dublin’s got a golden ticket as a world-class chocolatier Susan Branham has opened her brick and mortar store, Hot Tempered Chocolates inside Blackjack Office Center.

Veterans event set for Nov. 13

The Comanche County Historical Society & Museum, Inc. will host its Annual Veteran’s Day Luncheon Celebration Sunday, Nov. 13 at the Museum. Serving begins at 11 a.m. and closes at 2 p.m. The luncheon will feature a Festival Fiesta Tacolicious Taco Salad with all the toppings and beans.

Police Log

There was a report of a strong gas odor at the Post Office. Atmos was contacted and they were unable to locate a gas leak anywhere. A reporting person called about someone on a blue bike with a flash light on South Camden around the storage building behind the police department.

Where Are They Now?

When Gene Coan was a senior at Dublin High School, he took an agricultural co-op class that required him to find a parttime job in an agricultural field. He began working at a dairy, which set him up for a nearly two-decade career in dairy farming.

CCHF presents $100K to new facility

Comanche County Healthcare Foundation, voted in October to present $100,000 to the Comanche County Medical Center (CCMC) and Hospital District (CCCHD) to go towards work on the new longterm care facility.

Rural Caregivers Summit Nov. 15

There will be a Rural Caregivers Summit from 3-5 p.m. Nov. 15 on zoom for Erath, Johnson, Hood, Parker and McLennan counties. The summit is being hosted by Erath Engaged, Erath County Community Bridges, the Alzheimers Association and Texas A&M Agrilife extension.
