It’s uncommon for a first year rodeo to offer as much as the Burnin Bull Bull Riding Show set for April 20 at H20 Arena (400 CR 499, Hico, Texas).

“We’re trying to give rodeo back to the riders,” said Caitlin Fudge on behalf of the organizers, who are trying to spotlight the community and give it some quality entertainment.

The BYOB event is intended to showcase all the riding talent in Stephenville, Dublin and the surrounding area and will include a chuckwagon barbecue and crawfish boil as well as a concert to follow with live music. Vendors will also be on-hand showcasing unique finds for guests.

Gates will open at 3 p.m. followed by check-in at 5 p.m. and the start of the show at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased by following the QR code in this article. (Minors must be accompanied by an adult.) A raffle will also be held at the event with proceeds going to the family of fallen Dublin volunteer firefighter and veteran Jesse Rollins. Riders have the potential to get much more than bragging rights with $3,000 added to the pool, a $500 Bounty Bull and a $500 luck of the draw bull and much more. Buckles and other prizes will also be awarded to the top riders. (Riders looking to enter can call 254-434-7898.)

Fudge promises the riders will get a healthy challenge from the PBR and PRCAlevel bulls provided by Zac Harris, who has organized several rodeos in the local area.

The concert is being handled through Lank Rudolph’s L&R Pro, which works with hometown artists, engineers and wellknown rodeo circuit bands. The line-up will include Ghost Dance Band, Lank & the Shanks, Ruby Slipper and Black Out Burning.

Organizers have big plans and are hoping to use this show as a proving ground to make it even better for next year and start events in other areas. Burnin Bull is set to be broadcast/ livestreamed through bull rider Bonner Bolton’s RankRideTV and recorded for promotion of future events.

The organizers are grateful to H20 Arena for providing facilities as well as several professional bulls. They also thank the many sponsors who have already pledged their support of the new event.
