The Tarleton State University Planetarium’s most popular holiday show, “The Mystery of the Christmas Star,” will run through Dec. 20. It investigates possible dates for the birth of Christ and examines recorded sightings of significant astronomical events at the time.

There was a report of a possible sexual assault that occurred in Comanche County and it was referred to Dublin PD.A reporting person in the 500 block of Highland Avenue said her neighbor’s chicken got killed by a dog and the neighbor was not home.

Wanda (Keith) Greer has enjoyed a decades-long career as a civil servant, first working as a records keeper and then an officer with the Stephenville Police Department, then serving more than 20 years as the Erath County District Clerk.“I like helping people,” she said.

Churches offer Christmas events this weekend

This weekend a set of local churches are offering a chance to embrace the meaning of Christmas with their annual Live Nativity at Lingleville Baptist Church and The Faces of Christmas at Cottonwood.

Tarleton State University will celebrate fall 2024 graduates with two commencement ceremonies Friday, Dec. 13, at Memorial Stadium on the Stephenville campus.Tarleton State President Dr. James Hurley will preside over both ceremonies, which will include graduate and undergraduate students.

Sville council approves third TIRZ area

Stephenville City Council gave approval to forming the city’s third Tax Increment Refinancing Zone (TIRZ) after a public hearing and creation ordinance at the Tuesday, Dec. 3 meeting.The area is a primarily vacant 131 acre parcel of land off the Northwest Loop bordered by Frey near Forest Lane.
