Citizens provide input in CIRD workshops

Participants could hear a pin drop as the crowd gathered at The Station Wednesday, Sept. 25 and waited for members of the Citizens’ Institute on Rural Design (CIRD) to unveil renderings for the Dublin City Park including the old community building. They weren’t disappointed.

Public invited to developing ‘Ditch’

Drivers on Wolfe Nursery Road in Stephenville may have noticed an attractive piece of the prairie pop up in the last year with native plants and a building made from reclaimed local materials.

Dublin PD promotes 3

Dublin PD announced the promotion of three of its officers on Sept. 19, making the department more well-rounded for all of its officers.“This solidifies our goal of professionalism as a progressive law agency,” said Dublin Police Chief Cameron Ray.

County forms elections office

Erath County has officially formed its own Elections Office to aid citizens and the county as it continues to grow.

Free Flu Shots offered Thursday, Oct. 3 There will be a free drive-thru flu vaccination event at First Baptist Church from 3-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3.The event is sponsored by Faith Community Nursing Program with Texas Health Resources.

POLICE LOG

Sept. 9 was contacted to pick up the dog.There was a report of a vehicle that was vandalized in the 500 block of South Patrick.There was an alarm going off at Mint Smoke in the 100 block of South Patrick. Officers found the front door had some broken glass on the interior part of the door.

Sales tax up drastically in July

Dublin sales tax collections were up significantly in July at 27.23%, compared to July 2023, according to the state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar.For the month of July, Dublin received $61,376.16, compared to $48,238.10 in July 2023.

Comanche Pow Wow this weekend

This weekend there will be something for everyone as the annual Comanche Pow Wow event takes place Saturday, Sept. 28-29 at Comanche City Park Admission is $5 per person with free parking and free shuttles.Gates are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
