Dublin steals the show

The Sound of Dublin scored all ‘1’s’ at the regional marching band contest in Mineral Wells, Saturday, Oct. 19 and will advance to area in Denton this Saturday.

With Halloween approaching, Dubliners have several options to get into the ‘spirit.’All the community-wide trick or treating, downtown Safe Trick or Treat and a Trunk or Treat event by the Stephenville Area Elk’s Lodge will be held Thursday, Oct. 31 on Halloween.

Sales tax down for August

Dublin sales tax collections were down in August at -12.87%, compared to August 2023, according to the state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar.For the month of August, Dublin received $44,121.56, compared to $50,643.80 in August 2023.

Police Log

A reporting person requested a return phone call with a legal question.There was a welfare check on elderly lady. The reporting person had not seen her out in several days. Officer made contact with her and she stated she was OK.

Sendoff, contest set for Sound of Dublin

There will be a send off for the Sound of Dublin band at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Corner Lot. The band will be traveling to compete at UIL Marching Contest in Mineral Wells.Those wishing to travel to Mineral Wells to see the band perform are able to do so.
