Sales tax receipts down again

Dublin sales tax collections were down again in January 2024 at 9.26% lower compared to January 2023, according to the state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar. For the month of January, Dublin received $44,923.14, compared to $49,509.62 in January 2023.

Seized animals to be rehomed

After a hearing regarding an animal cruelty case, more than 100 animals have been permanently removed from the property of Cheryl Barker. Approximately three weeks ago, deputies from Erath County Sheriff’s Office were called to 518 County Road 712 near Huckabay in reference to a suspected case of animal cruelty.

Total solar eclipse to bring crowds, impede traffic

Dublin is expected to get one minute and 19 seconds of complete darkness in the solar eclipse occurring Monday, April 8. For those interested in seeing the eclipse, a partial eclipse will begin at 12:19 p.m., totality will occur at 1:28 p.m.

DHS student design sets stage for state

Dublin High School freshman Travis Spharler is headed to state competition in UIL Theatrical Design/ Set Design May 10-11. To qualify in the competition, students are assigned a play and then tasked with designing and creating set and costume designs, applying makeup and drawing their designs and creating marketing plans (including posters and programs).

Egg Hunt set for Saturday
