COVID Update

Erath County officials reported 74 new cases of COVID-19 in the report from Monday night (Dec. 7). Fortytwo of these new positive cases were from within the city limits of Stephenville, seven were from Dublin and 25 were rural residents of the county.

Early voting open

Early voting for the runoff special election for Texas Senate District 30 began Wednesday at the Erath County Courthouse. Voters are deciding between Drew Springer and Shelly Luther for the vacated seat of Pat Fallon, who was recently elected in a bid for a U.S. Representative seat.

December 1 A report was made of a power line down on Live Oak. A report was made when the alarm went off at Brookshire Brothers on Patrick St. December 3 Caller reported that lights were flickering on and off throughout the day at a home on Patrick and Mesquite.

DHS grad named Captain in national team

Dublin High School graduate Nick James is once again receiving national recognition for her rugby prowess. The 2007 DHS Valedictorian was named the captain of the Inter-Squad teams for the USA Rugby Women’s National Team as they prepare for the 2021 World Cup.
