Hico’s Bobby Kerr was inducted into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame in a ceremony held on March 4 at Billy Bob’s Texas at the Fort Worth Stockyards. The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame honors individuals who have shown excellence in many areas including business, competition and continue to support the rodeo and western lifestyle in Texas. The Induction Ceremony is also the largest fundraiser of the year for the Hall of Fame. Kerr has accomplished and achieved many awards throughout his career which include: 2017 PRCA Specialty Act of the Year, 2016 NFR Specialty Act and 2012 Supreme Extreme Mustang Makeover Champion and Fan Favorite and many more. Kerr is also a talented craftsman and has produced many Texas Music concerts starring top country musicians.
The Comanche Chief
The Comanche Market is back and was held on Saturday March 6. The Comanche Market is free to the public and will be held at the Comanche Courthouse parking lot. The Market will be held on the first Saturday of every month from March to December and will be open from 9 am to 1 pm. Vendors who are interested in joining can sign up at the Comanche Market Facebook page and more information about the market can be found there.

Dianne Donegan celebrated with her friends and family after announcing her retirement after 19 years as the DeLeon Senior Citizens Centers administrator. The caption underneath the photo said “Donegan led the center to become one of Comanche County’s most effective institutions for seniors, and will be missed.”

Hamilton County’s Justice of the Peace James Lively was photographed mixing batter for a pancake supper for Helping Hands/St. Mary’s Anglican Church. The pancake supper was held last Tuesday at the Lee Conference Center and it raised $900 for both organizations.
