DPS urges driver safety as new school year starts

With the school year beginning in person for many districts across the state, the Texas Department of Public Safety is reminding the public of steps they can take to keep students and staff members safe.

August 7 At 2:01 p.m. a twovehicle accident occurred between a pickup and a tractor on FM 219 North at CR 392 temperarily trapping one person who was taken to the hospital. August 9 At 10:41 a.m. a five gallon oil drum spilled all over the roadway of FM 219 at FM 2303, TxDot was notified.

The Lingleville community will get a chance to see the school’s new cafeteria, classes and administration offices during the meet the teachers event tonight from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Erath County officials reported 257 active cases in the report Thursday night (Aug. 12). This is up from 255 the day. This rise came from 18 new cases (Total cases since the beginning of the pandemic rose from 3596 to 3614) and 16 recoveries (3287 on Aug. 12, up from 3271 the night before).
